Instructor: Kris Mayfield – 28 years State and Federal Law Enforcement; Federal/State Certified Firearms Instructor Coordinator (FIC); Federal Firearms Instructor Training Program (FITP) National Instructor; 22 years in Special Operations Division, Special Response Team (SRT)

Class Info: The training will be one (1) day lasting approximately 2 – 3 hours. All training will be held at the Spring Guns and Ammo Long Rifle Range, Magnolia, TX. Shooters will be engaging targets from approximately 5 yards to approximately 200 yards.

Goal: To provide relevant tactical shooting information and techniques to improve each shooters ability to make effective tactical rifle/pistol shots and transitions.

The practical AR-15/Carbine/Pistol class will show the intermediate to advanced shooter how to “run their gun” to the fullest of their abilities and transition to a pistol when circumstances dictate.

The training will cover the principles of Rifle/Pistol marksmanship and gun handling.

Students will shoot from a variety of stationary positions as well as shooting on the move.

Students will learn to use both their iron sights and optical sights of their rifle (If attached).

Malfunction drills and transition drills will be stressed.

Equipment needed:

Eye and ear protection, hat, chair, sun screen, snack

Weapon systems can include AR-15, AK47, Mini 14 or SCAR platforms. (SLING ATTACHED TO RIFLE)

Pistol must be secured in a holster on the hip or waistband, with extra magazines for Rifle and Pistol.

A sling will need to be available for use on the rifle. Sling will be used during transition drills

200 Rounds of rifle ammunition. 100 rounds of pistol ammunition.

ABSOLUTELY NO ARMOUR PIERCING ANMMUNITION or STEEL CASED AMMUNITION

At least 2 rifle magazines (3 recommended), and some way to attach 1 rifle magazine to the shooters belt line or support leg. Pistol Holster and pistol mag pouch needed as well.

Iron sight, EO Tech, Red Dot or Optical sight for Rifle.
